Max’s Restaurant is a renowned Filipino franchise brand that has captured the hearts and taste buds of generations of Filipinos and food enthusiasts alike. Established in the Philippines in 1945, Max’s Restaurant has grown from a humble roadside eatery to become an iconic culinary institution that represents the rich and diverse flavors of Filipino cuisine.
Max’s Restaurant’s beginnings started in 1945, after World War II. Maximo Gimenez, a Stanford – educated teacher, befriended the American occupation troops stationed at Quezon City. Because of this friendship, the soldiers regularly visited Maximo’s nearby home for a drink or two. Later on, the troops insisted that they pay for their drinks. This prompted Maximo to open a cafe, where the troops could enjoy food and drinks. The cafe initially served chicken, steak and drinks. Maximo’s niece, Ruby, who managed the kitchen, created a special recipe for chicken that became an instant favorite for the GIs. Soon, the Filipino public heard about the delicious tender, juicy and crispy chicken-and they came too! Max’s Restaurant was born.
Over the years, Max’s Restaurant’s popularity grew, and it became known as “the house that fried chicken built.”
Max’s signature “Sarap-To-The-Bones” fried chicken, which features a perfectly seasoned and crispy skin with tender and juicy meat, became an instant hit and a staple of Filipino cuisine. The secret recipe has been carefully guarded and passed down through the generations, ensuring that every piece of Max’s fried chicken delivers the same mouthwatering experience that customers have come to love.
What sets Max’s Restaurant apart is not only its exceptional food but also its commitment to providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. The restaurant’s interiors exude a nostalgic charm, reminiscent of family gatherings and shared meals. Max’s has become a go-to destination for celebrating special occasions, where families and friends come together to enjoy the distinct flavors of Filipino cuisine in a comfortable and inviting setting.
As Max’s Restaurant continued to captivate the local market, the brand recognized the potential for expansion and decided to share its culinary heritage with the world through franchising. Max’s started offering franchise opportunities in 1998, allowing entrepreneurs to bring the taste of the Philippines to communities across the globe. Its global presence has allowed Filipino expatriates and food enthusiasts from different backgrounds to experience the authentic flavors of the Philippines, fostering a sense of cultural pride and connection. Now Max’s Restaurant operates more than 200 stores in the Philippines, the US, Canada, UAE, Qatar and most recently in Singapore and Guam.
With its rich history, dedication to culinary excellence, and commitment to creating memorable dining experiences, Max’s Restaurant continues to be a beloved franchise brand that represents the heart and soul of Filipino cuisine. Whether it’s enjoying a plate of Sarap-To-The-Bones fried chicken or indulging in a feast of traditional Filipino delicacies, dining at Max’s is a journey that celebrates the vibrant flavors and cultural heritage of the Philippines, making it a truly unforgettable experience for all who enter its doors.
