Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, the largest barbecue franchise in the world, announced its partnership with the Swinder Group to open its first location in Cairo, Egypt. Swinder purchased their first Dickey’s Barbecue Pit franchise in 2019 but were unable to open due to the COVID–19 pandemic. The Cairo restaurant is now set to open in early December 2021.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has been in operation for 80 years and remains a privately held, third generation family-owned business with more than 500 locations across the United States. In 2019, Dickey’s opened their second international location in Dubai, after seeing great success with the first opening overseas in Abu Dhabi.
The UAE location was opened by Serenity Hospitality, a group based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Dickey’s – in partnership with Serenity Hospitality – plans to open more than 40 locations across the Middle East. The group plans to open and operate Dickey’s franchises in the Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Lebanon.

Dickey’s sells slow smoked beef brisket, beef sausage, smoked turkey, and savory sides.
