ERA Real Estate grows its presence in South America

With the developer Kopel Sanchez and Rutland S.A., ERA Real Estate has announced the signing of a master franchise agreement for Uruguay, signaling the brand’s ongoing development into South America.

21 years ago, Fabián Kopel and Sebastián Sánchez established Kopel Sánchez. The company, one of Uruguay’s top developers, is concentrated on building housing stock in established and developing regions of the nation.

Ernesto Orosman Gomez, the company’s owner, and Francisco Manuel Gomez Mansilla, its CEO, run Rutland S.A., which also handles brokerage work for ERA Paraguay.

The president of ERA Uruguay will be Wilder Ananikian, a seasoned real estate businessman with more than 30 years of brokerage expertise in the marketplaces of Montevideo and Punta del Este. The headquarters of ERA Uruguay are situated in Montevideo, the nation’s capital, in the Pocitos district.

According to Wilder, the franchise’s arrival into Uruguay presents an opportunity to seize control of a thriving market that offers numerous opportunities for growth and expansion. He expressed “We plan to capitalize on the growing awareness of the brand and its strong value proposition to develop an extended footprint across Uruguay. We are excited to be affiliated with a real estate brand that is committed to connecting dreams to owners.”

According to Uruguay’s National Housing Agency, 43,021 homes were sold nationwide in 2021, with Montevideo accounting for 33% of those sales, Maldonado for 17%, and the rest of the country for 50%. Additionally, prices rose by 5%, returning to their pre-pandemic levels. Additionally, from 2020 to 2022, the number of construction permits climbed by 40%.
