Fancy a night at The Happy Cat Hotel

Travel has not been an option for many of us in 2020. However, that should not stop you from treating your cat to a luxurious staycation. Though you like to take your pet with you wherever you go, sometimes it might not be possible. And looking for professionals to board your cat with can be a stressful experience for you and your pet. But not if you fancy a night at The Happy Cat Hotel!

Themed staycations for your cat

This feline focused hotel was founded in 2014 in Windsor, Connecticut – USA, by Chris Raimo and his wife Meg. Subsequently, they launched a franchise program in early 2020. For about $50 for a night, your cat could enjoy an enjoyable staycation at The Happy Cat Hotel.

This luxurious accommodation has plenty of themes to choose from. This includes Waikikitty, Costa Rica Kitty, Kitty Kabana, Weekend In Purris and Cleocatra to name a few.

“We run it like a hotel,” says Chris Raimo “We have housekeeping, a.m. checkout and p.m. check-in, so housekeeping can go in and turn over each room for the next guest. In addition, there’s a kitty concierge, someone whose entire job is to engage with the cats while they’re here.”

To spice up the play area for the cats, they have deployed several multi-dimensional spaces into the room. For instance, vertical climbing towers, elevated perches, cubbies for the cat that likes to hunker down or, in the case of the jazz-inspired Happy Cat Lounge room, custom piano key climbers and ramps. Further, all the furniture in the rooms is built to withstand plenty of scratching. Most importantly, the cat owners are sent daily text updates that can be upgraded to 24-hour webcam access.

“This is a concept that’s just starting to catch fire right now,” he says. They have 18 rooms in the Windsor location and 12 in the East Granby location. On the other hand, they also offer grooming services and a retail component.
