“Pawsome” 20years with Hounds Town

It is easy to love your dog, but not so easy to find someone who equally cares about your canine friend. That is where Hounds Town helps all the dog owners. It was started in 2000 by former NYPD canine handler and commanding officer of the Nassau County Police Department Michael (Mike) S. Gould. This year 2020 will mark the “Pawsome” 20years with Hounds Town.  They have provided a continuous caring environment for the dogs all these years. This includes interactive daycare, pet boarding, dog grooming, a pet taxi and retail services.

Dedicated customer care

Excellent customer service to both the dog and their owners has been the core of business at Hounds Town. The entire team of Hounds Town runs a sincere, trustworthy and reliable pet care center. And Farmingdale’s franchise is a good example of this. It is run by Maria Gillen, Jennifer Jung and Candice Lorenzana. They received the highest system-wide revenue in 2019.

Surprised Maria Gillen said “It honestly came as a surprise because we know that the overall Hounds Town system is hardworking and dedicated. However, if we were to pinpoint it, we would guess it’s because we put a strong focus on customer service—we answer customers promptly and they can usually see an owner or manager’s face any time they come in.”

Growing rapidly

This unique concept for the dogs has received so much love from not just the dogs and their owners, but also the franchise owners. Growing rapidly with its origin in USA, it has opened 12 locations in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Georgia. And the last year has been particularly special since they signed 9 new deals in 2019. Most importantly, all the new locations between 2018-2019 have exceeded their revenue goals and growth expectations.

“Signing nine new franchise deals in 2019 was really exciting for us because it means our brand has really started to gain traction, and we’re seeing fantastic candidates find their way to us,” said Hounds Town’s President Jackie Bondanza. “That kind of success comes after years of hard work and brand awareness, and we’re excited to see that start to come to fruition.”

They are currently developing location in multiple markets across USA. This includes Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, Nevada, Maryland and Tennessee. They are also targeting Colorado, Texas and Florida.  Their goal is to reach 25 new franchisees each year.
