1. How did you enter the franchise business?

I went to law school and practiced law for over 5 years until my brother-in-law asked me if I want to join him in a franchise venture that he establish in 2004 and named Crepe Delicious. After a lot of thought, I decided to join him, and honestly, I did not regret it. Today Crepe Delicious has over 80 locations in 8 countries and Salus Fresh Foods become a big part of our franchise family.

2. Where and how did the idea of your concept come from?

Salus Fresh Foods Founder finds a large disconnect between healthy food prepared at home and healthy food being served in a QSR. This is how Salus Fresh Foods was born.

3. What inspired the brand name?

Salus was the Roman goddess of health and well being

4. What is the story behind the brand’s logo?

It’s all about the food. Clear and healthy. It’s essential that consumers can easily understand what type of business your brand is.

5. What makes your brand different from your competitors?

We are a REAL healthy concept. When your target customers that health is in their mind they can see the difference between a brand that cutting corners to a brand that provides a REAL healthy meal. Salus fresh foods prepare all ingredients in-house which include homemade dressing made daily from scratch at the store and cooked protein and seafood.

Our goal is to help people to live better lives.

6. What are the essential qualities that you look for in a franchisee?

We looking for a partner that believes in the brand and is excited about the brand and the message the brand delivers.

7. How long does it take, on average, for your franchisee to realize their investment?

On average 2-3 years

8. What was the major challenge you faced in your career and how did you overcome it?

I thought I saw it all until Covid hit. No doubt that Covid provides us with the most changeling time for our business. As a Canadian company, we had lots of government restrictions that allow us for many months to do business only on delivery and take out. We already master the delivery before Covid but Covid pushes us to master the delivery platform even more.

We communicate with our partners on daily basis. Visit our stores on daily basis and support our franchisees in front of their suppliers, banks, and the LL’s as needed.

Our head office has a daily meeting where we discuss menu adjustments, operation manual adjustments, increase the marketing budget, and much more.

Covid has taught me that relationships, resilience, and hard work will pay off.

9. How does your business day start?

Early in the morning I answer emails, review store reports, and read news regarding our industry, then I go to the office for daily meetings.

10. What was your best moment throughout your franchise career?

Meeting such incredible people worldwide. I love to travel, experience, and learn about different cultures.

11. Where do you see your brand in the next 5 years?

Salus Fresh Foods will be the largest healthy restaurant in the world.
