Brothers In Law was started with the desire to eat top-quality burgers. With strong influences from the New York scene and open kitchen, their menu consists of juicy and delicious burgers and meats, a wide variety of salads and french fries, but also wraps that are made and baked at that time. Stelios Kanderakis, Owner – Brothers in Law shares his story and the making of this popular restaurant.

1. How did you enter the franchise business?

I entered the franchise business, when I realized that the concept was strong, consistent and ready to expand.

2. Where and how did the idea of your concept come from?

Operating a summer casual restaurant, I realized that burgers were the highest selling products. Additionally I saw a worldwide trend for better quality burgers. Furthermore during the economic crisis in Greece, I thought that a burger concept is fast, good value for money, appealing to the majority of people and reasonable investment.

3. What inspired the brand name?

With my co-owner we are real brothers in law in life.

4. What is the story behind the brand’s logo?

We combined a burger shape and our beloved black and white colors.

5. What makes your brand different from your competitors?

Consistency and trustworthiness in quality. Unique burger variety of 30 classic, signature and premium burgers. Fresh, flame-grilled burgers, made to order. It has an open-style kitchen and casual table service with a cool design and atmosphere.

6. What are the essential qualities that you look for in a franchisee?

In order to have a successful long term relationship, we need to have common values and common philosophy and culture..

7. How long does it take, on average, for your franchisee to realize their investment?

Depending on the circumstances it varies from 3 to 4 years.

8. What was the major challenge you faced in your career and how did you overcome it?

To create and develop the most successful burger concept. I was focused and committed to product and service quality.

8.1 What is your best achievement?

The fact that parents bring their children in our restaurants. They fully trust our quality.

9. How does your business day start?

With daily scheduling meetings.

10. What was your best moment throughout your franchise career?

The opening of the first franchise store.

11. Where do you see your brand in the next 5 years?

I see a brand with many profitable restaurants, both in my country and in other international markets. Step by step gradual growth , that will expand and establish the brand.
