We interviewed director of operations Mohammad Sabbagh of Wakame – KSA and here were some of his opinions.
Wakame is a small sushi bar that was focused on making the best tasting sushi – without ever compromising on the highest quality ingredients.
1.How did you enter in the franchise business?
We entered the franchise business with help of Francorp.
2.Where and how did the idea for your concept come from?
Our goal was to create a restaurant for sushi lovers in KSA.
3.What inspired the brand name?
The seaweed leaf inspired the name of the restaurant.
4.What is the story behind the brand logo?
The logo reflects the sushi and sea food concept at our restaurant.
5.What makes your brand stand out from your competitors?
We offer premium quality and in addition, we are also consistent in our services.
6.What are the essential qualities that you look for in a franchisee?
We look for people who are able to sustain our quality and transparency in the partnership.
7.How long does it take, in an average, for your franchisee to realize their investment?
It takes 6 months or a year to realise their investment.
8.What was the major challenge you faced in your career and how did you overcome it?
We had a problem with storage of our stock as it was imported. However, we overcame it by changing the size of our storehouse to 1500 meter square land.
9.What is your best achievement?
We have built a brand reputation that has lasted 11 years.
10.Where do you see your brand in the next 5 years?
It would be developed in other regions. In addition, locally growing in districts.
11.Any tips you want to impart to our readers who want to be in the franchise industry?
In conclusion, they should believe in your quality, vision and mission. Above all, always prioritize customers over your revenues.
