The first thing that comes to our mind, when one thinks about Pizza is Italy. Consequently, they became popular all over the globe, with its own native version in each country. Pizza is one of the most favourite food for many around the world. As a result, number of pizza restaurants are growing constantly to prove the rise in the demand for this savoury dish. And one such popular restaurant is Russo’s NY Pizzeria, that has customers hungry for more.
How the story of Russo NY Pizza started
The son of first-generation Italian immigrants, Chef Anthony Russo grew up in a New Jersey home where the kitchen was the center of family life. There was always cooking and baking at home, and many of the ingredients came from the family garden. Just the way Grandpa and Nonna Russo did back in Avellino, Italy.

These experiences stuck with young Anthony as his family moved to Galveston, Texas, in 1978. First, his father opened Russo’s Italian Restaurant, which quickly became a local favorite. Just like that, Anthony found a second home in the restaurant kitchen. By the age of 12, he was learning family recipes from relatives who flew in from Naples and Sicily each summer. Making pizza and scacciata (calzones) became his passion.

Later Russo NY Pizza was launched in 1990 in Houston. Ever since his original approach to New York-style pizza has been a booming success from coast to coast. In other words, their franchise locations expanded nationwide and internationally. The world over, Russo’s New York-style pizza has come to symbolize the excitement of the city. This is where traditions meet and travelers stand in line for a slice of the action.
